A 10-week holistic group program for grievers ready to become more resilient to create a new normal with space for presence, joy, and love.

Hey there friend,

Welcome.

Grieving is one of the most challenging experiences we go through as humans, and our collective discomfort around grief doesn’t make it any easier.

If you’re struggling to process the loss of a loved one, a job, or a relationship in a world that wants you to just “get over it already”...

If your grief has made it difficult to focus at work, feeling overwhelmed all the time or are dropping balls that you used to juggle with ease…

If your relationships are suffering because even your closest friends and family might not understand what you’re going through...

If you’re feeling mysterious aches and pains or having other health symptoms that seemingly came out of nowhere...

If you're keeping your heart closed, attempting to shield yourself from any more pain, loss, or heartbreak...

You are not alone.

Imagine being able to...

  • Calmly (and honestly!) answer the question, how are you doing? without awkwardly holding back tears (or a scream, or an eye roll).

  • Find joy in the things you used to love; and experiment with new hobbies, goals, and interests

  • Create a new normal for yourself that feels authentic and -- dare I say it -- meaningful?

To be clear, none of these things mean forgetting your loved one or pretending like it never happened...

But you deserve it all.

Because while it’s different than you imagined, there IS a future for you. And learning how to effectively work with your grief is the key.

Every time I [work with] Julee I physically feel the tension from my body leave. The classes are gentle on the body and freeing of the mind.

Julee is amazing at leading mindfulness and yoga practices. Her voice is calm and pleasant, which really matters for guided meditation. She explains well, demonstrating and participating alongside you, but also guides you through. I never feel lost or left wondering what we’re doing, and I always feel calm, restored, and safe after class.

I highly recommend Julee’s classes for anyone who is experiencing extra stress, grief, or other swirling emotions.

— Amy G.

How do I know?

Hey, I’m Julee.

And I am so glad you’re here.

I’m a grief doula, certified Grief Yoga® instructor, and certified end-of-life doula.

But I’m also just like you.

I have personally seen what happens when people don’t have the tools to process their grief, because it happened to me.

I have been living with grief my entire life.

When I was 16, three of my grandmothers passed away within 15 months. The adults in my life didn’t have the tools to deal with their grief, so I took on the role as peacekeeper.

I learned how to suppress my own emotions in order to keep everyone else comfortable. I turned to overworking and overachieving in order to feel a sense of control over my life.

And it worked...until it didn't.

By age 27, my life was full. I had just moved across the country, was in the process of getting divorced, and had a stressful consulting job.

But then my mother passed away suddenly from a heart attack.

Her death was so devastating that my busy life came to a standstill. I was desperate to find some kind of relief and meaning in her death.

I dove into yoga and different healing modalities; becoming obsessed with learning as much as I could. Learning how to get out of my head, and into my body and heart more. To slow down and stop running on autopilot all the time.

I went to courses, trainings, and workshops. I started practicing yoga, and loved it so much that I became a yoga instructor. I studied healing practices like reiki, Ayurveda, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Anatomy of Emotion, Grief Yoga®, and more.

And gradually…

I started to heal.

Things never went back to “normal,” mind you.

But I was able to meet my losses with greater resiliency, hope, and self-trust than before.

I realized that I had been carrying deeply conditioned beliefs about what it means to grieve, and how to grieve “appropriately,” (whatever the heck that means.)

I had picked up these beliefs from the way our society approaches grief, just a few of which are:

  • Don't talk about it.

  • If you do have to talk about it, keep it short.

  • Definitely don't cry.

  • If you're not over it in a few months, something is wrong with you.

  • Be strong for everyone else.

They seem ridiculous spelled out like that, don’t they?

And yet, that’s the way most of us approach grief.

It keeps us stuck, suppressed, and suffering.

And there’s a better way.

Using the tools I discovered after my mom died, I went from:

Reactive → Mindful

Suppressed → Emotionally Intelligent

Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms → Myriad Healthy Techniques

Stuck and Afraid → Embrace the Journey

But most importantly…

RESILIENT IN THE FACE OF GRIEF

And I want that for you too.

DO ANY OF THESE SOUND FAMILIAR?

  • You’re hurting and wonder if grief may be manifesting physically with pain, tension, and stiffness.

  • You don’t know who to talk to about your grief, and you’re craving real, authentic connections with other people who “get it”

  • You’re afraid that if you stop packing your schedule and take a pause to * actually * feel your feelings you’ll start crying and never stop

  • You know that you need to deal with your grief instead of pretending everything is fine, but you don’t know where to start or who to trust

  • You feel exhausted from pretending to be “normal” and “ok” all of the time, but you don’t know how to actually articulate how you’re feeling - you don’t want to be a Debbie Downer.

I had a profound experience in Julee's class. I was able to express emotions that I had no idea I was still dealing with. Yoga for Grief & Emotional Liberation gives you space to really look at your emotional landscape and move the emotions through your body.

I have done so much work processing emotions and grief and pain in my mind, but the body is so often forgotten in our work to heal the heart. These classes bring you into the body in a way that is so needed!

If your soul whispered that’s me…

You’re not alone. And you’re in the right place.

If you’ve made it this far, you’re finally ready to face your grief head on, in service of the life that’s waiting for you.

You’re willing to be open and curious -- to fully explore your body, mind, and spirit so you can heal limiting beliefs and release stuck emotions.

You know that there’s no going “back to normal” after you've experienced grief, and that whatever your new life looks like is going to be very different from the one you left behind -- and that’s ok.

But most of all…

You want to put the pieces of your life back together and create something beautiful.

With Love, Julee

I am here to be of service. You and I are one and the same. We are human beings here in this life doing the best we can. The only guarantees we have in life are change and impermanence, and this fact can bring so much pain and suffering into our experience.

I created this program for you as a collection of tools and practices that I have both experienced personally, and witnessed being transformational in cultivating resilience and self-compassion. We are the one companion we will always have, so we need to be good to ourselves. I am here with my whole heart to hold space and be a loving presence in guiding you through deepening that self-love relationship. I witness your grief. I see your healing, friend.
